On September 8, 2021 officers with the Crime Suppression Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and Canine Unit charged a 17-year-old girl with flight from peace officer.
On September 7, 2021 around 3:19 p.m. officers observed the accused driving a vehicle on Albert Street West. Officers knew the accused was wanted on outstanding warrants and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop and continued driving at a high rate of speed. Officers did not pursue and attempts to locate the vehicle were unsuccessful.
On September 8, 2021 officers again observed the accused driving the same vehicle on Lennox Avenue. Around 12:00 p.m. officers initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle stopped, but the accused proceeded to put the vehicle in reverse in an attempt to drive away from police. Officers were able to block the attempt. At this time, the accused exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the area on foot. Officers caught up to the accused and she was arrested on the strength of outstanding warrants.
A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of a knife that opens with centrifugal force, approximately 1.49 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl, approximately .96 grams of a substance believed to be crack cocaine and approximately 3.56 grams of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine. The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is $1,200.

- Knowing Being in a Vehicle with a Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance x3
- Breach of Recognizance to not Operate a Motor Vehicle x2
- Breach of Recognizance to not Possess Unlawful Drugs x3
- Breach of Recognizance to not Possess a Weapon
She was held for bail and remanded into custody. She is scheduled to appear in court on September 10, 2021.
