If you are headed to the pumps to fill up on your motor vehicle propellant, be prepared to pay extra for the privilege.
Earlier this afternoon readers alerted SaultOnline to a gas price hike at many local stations. What was 144.9/litre last week has now jumped up to 149.9/litre. A 40 litre fill up will now cost you $60, we know, we just did it.
If you want to save some of that precious petrol, you are advised to do numerous things by Natural Resources Canada.
- Accelerate Gently
- Anticipate Traffic
- Maintain a steady speed
- Avoid high speeds
- Coast to decelerate
They also advise not to idle your vehicle, make sure your tire pressure is correct, remove roof or bicycle racks and watch how much weight you carry.
There is no word on if the prices will ever come back down, and in an article published earlier this month, it has been speculated that we may see prices continue to climb all the way up to $2.00/litre by Christmas.
