Charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

On October 27, 2021 around 1:30 a.m. officers with the Crime Suppression Unit conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Great Northern Road and Willoughby Street.

Upon approaching the vehicle officers identified 31-year-old Kristiani Mattila in the rear of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed he was wanted for failing to attend court.

He was arrested and a subsequent search found him to be in possession of a replica handgun and two sets of brass knuckles.

He is charged with;

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon x2
Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order x6
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Breach of Recognizance – Fail to Comply with an Appearance Notice

He was held for bail court and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 28, 2021.

  1. Another one of those names you see regularly on the police stories… No wonder the police in this burg get frustrated… Time to start thinking about alternate methods of dealing with regular repeat offenders..

    • it might be an interesting experiment to take these revolving door criminals and give them a super UBI at a rate of $8000-10000 per month, a class A driver’s license in Ontario, and free guns
