Shortly after 9:30 p.m. last night, SaultOnline observed multiple emergency services vehicles at an address in the west end.
A paramedic chief’s vehicle and two Sault Police Services vehicles were parked at an address in the 0-100 block of Walnut Street.
We had received information regarding the location and reached out to Sault Police Services for comment.
Sault Police Services Manager of Communications, Lincoln Louttit, provided some clarity this morning.
“Officers are currently investigating a sudden death in the 0-100 block of Walnut Street,” said Louttit.
Based on previous conversations with the police service, they can not comment as to whether or not a death is overdose related, that this is the job of the coroner.
Algoma Public Health has told us in the past that a coroner’s toxicology report can take between 2-6 months to come back.
Stay with SaultOnline as we continue to report on police activity in Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area.
