As Principal of a busy high school, the days are filled with priorities, many responsibilities and countless duties to both staff as well as students. To say that the days are busy and full would be an understatement.
However, some individuals take their jobs very seriously and in doing so, challenge themselves to always do more, do better–to really take it to the next level. Such is what can be said of Sergio Iacoe, former principal of Korah Collegiate and Vocational School.
Iacoe retired this past June, 2021. Today, and prior to this, he has been recognized by colleagues and students alike as a tireless supporter and active fundraiser for student activities and initiatives. He has, for the last 12* out of 13 years, run Korah’s PTA Super Bowl raffle (*there was no raffle in 2020 as per COVID-19 restrictions). He is credited with raising thousands of dollars in support of student-related programming.
A media release is recognizing this outstanding educator and contributor to the community’s youth in a special way.
“This marks the first year in the history of the draw that Sergio is eligible to win this prestigious prize. To honour his contributions and service to the board, Korah, and this draw, we arranged to have him purchase the first ticket # 0001.” said Steve Caruso, Principal at Korah Collegiate & Vocational School.
SaultOnline joins the community as well as the staff and students of Korah CV&S in celebration of this dynamic and active individual, wishing him well in retirement and thanking him for his efforts is support of the youth of Sault Ste. Marie.
