Sault Police Service provide updates on 3 incidents Friday


Sault Police Service Manager of Communications, Lincoln Louttit was able to provide information regarding three incidents yesterday.

The collision, which occurred around 4 p.m. at the corner of Wallace Terrace and Sherbourne Street has resulted in one person being charged with failure to stop under the Highway Traffic Act.

Two incidents at two separate businesses are connected.

Louttit addressed our report on a stabbing at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Second Line West as well as social media reports of a incident at a coffee shop in the west end.

“There were two incidents at west end businesses last night, they were related, involving the same people,” said Louttit. “Minor injuries and no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.”

Perhaps if our city police were to take 1/2 of the investigative services officers out of their roles and put a uniform on them to hit the pavement and start enforcing some traffic laws and dealing with the street level issues we could clean up this city and clean up our roads… hell they aren’t doing a good job in their roles now as they keep charging individuals that haven’t committed crimes resulting in tying up the courts for years to see them just drop the charges when it’s clear there’s no evidence.. so at least use them for something useful. everyone keeps blaming the courts… how about blaming the front line investigators arresting good people over and over again with a lack of evidence… costs the individuals for lawyers, costs the government for crown attorney time, judge time etc and bogs down the courts for no reason allowing the real criminals to walk… time to get your crap together Chief Stevenson and clean up your department so the real crimes can be stopped…
