The Piper Project is challenging all businesses to get involved this month to help collect new children books. They are hoping to have the team at any business to collect books internally or even become a drop off location for book donations.

Any business wanting to become a drop off location for book donations can contact Erica or Spencer Hogan at [email protected] or call Hogan’s Homestead at 705.246.7673 to express their interest and their business will be added to the drop off location list. Volunteers will then pick up all donations in the First Week of November at all pick up locations.

The organization is once again looking to collect a total of 310 books in the month of October to celebrate Pipers first birthday and first anniversary of her passing that falls on October 14th. Every book collected is donated to the Maternity unit in the Sault Area Hospital where every new baby born will go home with a book to spark the love of reading. There is an average of 900 babies born at the Sault Area Hospital every year, The Piper Project collects Book Donations all year round.

The Piper Project is excited to say that Arthur Funeral Home- Barton and Kiteley Chapel, located at 492 Wellington Street East in Sault Ste. Marie have already accepted the challenge and their staff have personally started collecting books and have put a basket out in their lobby where community members and drop off new children books. Will your business be next. In addition book donations can be dropped off at Hogan’s Homestead Gift Shop located at 536 Second Line West.
