A low pressure system moving through the area today will create strong winds for part of the district while producing a lot of snow for others.
This is just one system of four low pressure systems that are taking aim at the great lakes over the next several days.

Strong winds expected late this afternoon.
Strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h are expected with the passage of a strong cold front late this afternoon. The strong winds are expected to slowly weaken through the evening.
Localized wind damage and isolated power outages are possible.

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for today.
Lake enhanced snowfall is expected to begin this morning and continue through the day. Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected by the time the snow tapers off late this afternoon.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
