Man from Bruce Mines Charged with Break and Enter

On March 12, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 26-year-old Daniel Campbell of Bruce Mines, Ontario with break and enter.

Around 5:00 a.m. officers responded to an alarm call at a building in the 400 block of Second Line East. Upon arrival officers located a man leaving the area on a bicycle. Officers placed him under investigative detention, and he provided, what officers later discovered, to be a false name.

During the investigation officers discovered a door on the building had been damaged as someone had attempted to break in, but failed to gain entry. Officers developed reasonable grounds to believe the accused was responsible, he was arrested, and officers were able to identify him as the accused. A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of a pry bar, tin shears, a wrench, and a knife.

  • Possession of Break-in Tools
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Breach of Recognizance x5

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
