UPDATED – Another stabbing sends one to hospital (photos)

11:30 a.m.-

Police Communications Manager Lincoln Louttit provided this update.

Around 9:30 a.m. officers were notified by responding EMS that a person had been stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This is an active investigation and officers are currently on scene in the area.

The initial investigation has determined the two people involved are known to each other. There is no threat to public safety.

10:37 a.m.

Shortly after 9 a.m. this morning, SaultOnline was alerted to a heavy police presence as well as an ambulance in the downtown core.

Upon speaking with individuals at Addictions and Mental Health Associates, where the victims sought refuge after the incident, we have learned the following.

One man was stabbed in hand during an altercation near the corner of Bruce and Albert street before 9 a.m. this morning. He has been transported to hospital.

Police are currently investigating the situation.

We have reached out to Sault Police Services for comment and will bring it when it’s made available.

    • Perfectly legal yet deadly weapon for these hooligans to carry without repercussion, usually even after they stab someone, they are back on the street in a flash.
      I think I’d rather be shot than stabbed if push came to shove.

  1. The ghetto is getting more dangerous by the day, and not only after dark, now it’s even dangerous in broad daylight. It certainly makes no sense that they closed the police office there.
