Shortly before 1 a.m. this morning emergency services rushed to the scene of a collision on the east end of the city.
Upon arrival a full length transport truck was laying on its drivers side in the eastbound lanes of Trunk Road just west of the Highway 17 turnoff. Sault Police Service with the help of OPP at Batchewana Police quickly closed off the roadway in both directions until they could get the scene under control.
The westbound lanes have now been divided into one lane each way in order to facilitate movement around the wreckage.
It will most likely be a significant period of time before the truck is removed.
Nobody appeared trapped but at least one person was transported to hospital after the collision.
There is no word on the cause of the incident or the extent of injuries.
Sault Fire Services and Sault Police remain on scene while the collision is being cleared.
