UPDATED – At least 8 people detained in P-Patch (video/photos)

Sault Police Service shuts down Pentagon and Placid for incident, June 11, 2022 (Dan Gray/SaultOnline.com)

Updated – 12:45 p.m.– The street is open and multiple people were loaded into a transport van according to witnesses. They also noted detectives appear to be on the scene.

Access to the P-Patch was closed from the south as multiple individuals were apprehended from within a home in the area.

According to residents, Police have been on scene at the corner of Pentagon and Placid for a significant portion of the morning.

Upon arrival our reporter found Pentagon closed at McNabb and through to the other side of and including Placid.

At the scene, it was observed that Sault Police had a home surrounded and had detained at least eight individuals, one at a time, at gunpoint.

The Ballistic Armoured Truck, K9, Patrol and Emergency Service Unit all participated in mediating the incident.

Paramedics were also observed treating at least one of the individuals taken from the home.

There is no word as to what brought the authorities to the location, however SaultOnline will bring you information provided by Sault Police when it becomes available.

Traffic in the area is still slow.

Please do not attempt to drive around police cars when they are blocking the road, even if you live in the area.  Blocking streets off is done for the greater safety of the public.
