The City of Sault Ste. Marie has released a draft Official Plan with a revised set of policy directives. The City’s Official Plan guides the local decision-making on land use, development and public infrastructure over the next 20 years. Public input is paramount to ensure the Plan reflects the overall vision of residents and stakeholders.
“The Official Plan provides guidance on how the community is to grow over the next two decades, and is one of the City’s most important documents,” states Don McConnell, City Planning Director.
The Planning Department will host two in-person consultation sessions and one Zoom presentation to discuss the draft Official Plan and gather public input. All are welcome to attend one of the sessions and share questions and comments with City staff.
