In a Facebook post made by Sault Area Hospital this afternoon they acknowledge a series of issues facing their emergency department at the moment.
On Sunday, through publicly available information, our organization discerned at least 7 individuals were in “offload delay” at the hospital, meaning paramedics had to sit with them while they waited to be transferred to hospital care.
The statement from the hospital reads-
Due to high patient volumes and staffing shortages in the Emergency Department, patients who arrive at the hospital through the Emergency Department may experience longer wait times. Please be patient and kind with our staff as we manage multiple demands in our Emergency Department.
If you are unsure whether you have an emergency, seek health-related advice from a Registered Nurse by calling Health Connect Ontario (former Telehealth Ontario) (24/7). Call 811 or visit Ontario.ca/healthconnectontario.

Just another way to keep you all divided it’s been working for 100s of years
The tiny number of selfish dumdums who lost their job over not getting vaccinated did not cause this mess… Chronic underfunding by the provincial government did.
The christo-fascists and malcontents behind the antivaxx movement look for any reason to complain which begs the question: now that masks and vaccine mandates are suspended, why are they still whining? It’s almost like it was never about covid in the first place.
Shortz- You are a patient person. Pay no mind to the intellectually blunted posters. A futile waste of time.
Covid affected everyone differently!!the vaxx was hogwash considering you still got covid and transmitted it so anyone who was forced to get the jab was and is no further ahead than the unvaxxed… the government health officials lumped everyone underthe same umbrella.. whereas it should’ve been the immuno comprimised elderly and anyone who chose to get it!!
Yeah, you could still get it, but the symptoms would be so minor and sometimes able to be shrugged off as a cold most of the time without NEEDING TO BE ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL
Why dont you guys GET that!
Hmm, maybe if you didn’t lay off a ton of staff who didn’t want to get a vaccine, you wouldn’t be in this situation. Dumb dumbs.
Maybe if they would have quit whining about it and just got the jab, then they would still be working there and have protection from Covid
Cripes, a school kid needs to have certain vaccinations in order to be able to attend school, why should it be any different for an adult, particularly one working in a health care environment!
Dumb dumbs…
Sault Ste. Marie voted for this, and will now get the healthcare is deserves.
why does a hospital that ran a surplus have staffing shortages?
Because they laid off a buttload of people who didn’t want to get a phony vaccine. That’s one reason.
Hahahahahahaha
I know people personally that have lost famy and/or friends to covid
Why don’t you take your conspiracies elsewhere
A little bitter are we?
