Weapon fired in area of Placid and Pentagon this morning – Police

Earlier today we brought you the story of 8 individuals being detained in the Pentagon and Placid area of the city.

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has now confirmed a weapon was fired in the area and one person was arrested.

Around 9:30 a.m. officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 0-100 block of Pentagon Boulevard. Officers with Patrol Services, Investigation Services, Emergency Services Unit, and the Canine Unit attended.

Officers cleared a residence and garage in the area and several people were placed under investigative detention. As a result of the investigation, officers determined a firearm was fired in the area. No physical injuries occurred because of the gunfire.

One person has been arrested and charged with various firearm offences. Officers are no longer on scene, but the investigation is ongoing.

  2. Thanks to trudeaus new bill being pushed thru these scum bags will be let out and the person arrested will only get a slap on the wrist for firing an illegal gun. House arrest at the very most. While legal law abiding gun owners can no longer buy hand guns. Where is the common sense with the liberals? Criminals have more rights than anyone in this country and it is sad.
