At over 100 years old, the HMCS Oriole is the oldest active ship in the Royal Canadian Navy.
Through to tomorrow afternoon, it will be at the Roberta Bondar Pavillion for public tours. Acting Sub-Lieutenant and Public Affairs Officer HMCS ORIOLE Scott Ferris said that during Canada Day they saw over 2100 people get on the ship.
“That’s a record for this ship for any one day,” said Ferris. “It was great to see all the people come down and see what it’s like and meet our sailors.”
Ferris joined SaultOnline for a short interview about the ship, time at sea and joining the Navy.
