On August 4, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged a 17-year-old youth with aggravated assault. The name of the youth cannot be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Around 11:30 p.m. on August 3, 2022, the accused was in the back seat of a vehicle with the victim, who is known to the accused. An argument between the two took place, and the accused cut the victim with a knife on the forearm, causing a non-life-threatening injury. The accused fled the area.
Police were notified about the incident around 1:00 a.m. on August 4, 2022. The subsequent investigation led officers to attend a residence in the 300 block of Albert Street West. Officers observed the accused in the area, the accused attempted to flee the area on foot but was quickly apprehended by responding officers and arrested.

- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Release Order – Curfew Conditions
- Fail to Comply with Release Order – Do Not Possess Any Weapons
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
