From its beginnings with painting excursions with F. H. Varley, A. J. Casson and A. Y. Jackson, the Algoma Art Society is celebrating its 75th anniversary with an exhibition at the Art Gallery of Algoma (10 East St.), from Jan. 6 to Feb. 4.

The opening reception will be on Fri. Jan. 6 at 7 p.m.

The AAC is the oldest visual arts group in Algoma and has a new home base recently in the Sault Ste Marie Museum, where it has its board meetings.

The exhibition may host works from long-time members like Nora Anne Harrison, Judy Henderson, Lotte Steube, Hilkka Pellikka, Nancy Norman, Ken Hagerman and many others.
