Between September 2022 and January 2023, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Thunder Bay Police Service, and Durham Regional Police Service conducted a joint investigation related to illicit drug trafficking. As a result of the investigation, on Monday January 16, 2023, officers executed two search warrants in Sault Ste. Marie, one search warrant in Whitby and one search warrant in Oshawa.
Quantities of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine and Cocaine were seized, as well as a large quantity of Canadian Currency and a stolen vehicle.
Five people have been arrested in relation to this investigation.
41-year-old Richard Anderson Brewster of Pickering, Ontario is charged with,
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x3
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x3
25-year-old Oshane Davis-Forbes of Brampton, Ontario is charged with,
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
• Failing to Comply with Release Order x4
20-year-old Maurice Fidd of Toronto, Ontario is charged with,
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
22-year-old Leyla Ibrahim of Sault Ste. Marie is charged with,
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x3
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x2
18-year-old Tequar Jones of Brampton, Ontario is charged with,
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
