The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and partners at the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) urge community members to bring all necessary documentation when attending the CRC to report a collision.
Recently, CRC staff has seen an increase in the number of people reporting a collision without valid insurance. Having valid insurance is a requirement for CRC staff to process your report efficiently and accurately.
It is a requirement under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act that all vehicles on provincial roadways have valid and updated insurance when they are being operated. The minimum fine for the owner of a vehicle without valid insurance is $5,000.
