The I-500 isn’t the only track that gets a lot of attention this time of the year. A Winter Test centre located 30 minutes from Sault Ste. Marie Michigan can be a very busy during the winter months.
The Smithers Winter Test Center in Brimley, Michigan features over 800 acres of snow, ice, and bare pavement courses and surfaces that is ideal for testing vehicles of all sizes, from small cars to Class 8 trucks.
Each year Michigan’s automakers head here to use the test tracks in the eastern U.P. and Sault Ste. Marie area.
Most of the vehicles being tested are new models of electric vehicles– everything from Hummers to Corvettes.
Many of these vehicles have been spotted in and around Sault Michigan the last few days.
