Today, the City of Sault Ste. Marie launched its first podcast, Where You Belong., an in-depth look at local municipal government through conversations with City leadership and staff.
The first episode – Bon Soo – features an interview with the City’s Area Coordinator of Special Events and Sports Tourism Josh Ingram in Studio 99. Listen and subscribe wherever you get podcasts or go to www.saultstemarie.ca/podcast.
“We have a great lineup of speakers from month to month. Whether you want a broader perspective on local issues and initiatives or want to meet the great people who help run our municipality, this podcast is for you,” states Madison Zuppa, Deputy Clerk. “Our staff combine strong professional and customer service skills with a passion and commitment to our community. Being able to discuss how we are making a difference and weave stories into these conversations is what’s truly impactful.”
The City has been looking for new ways to connect with citizens who are not necessarily at a computer such as rural residents driving into the City or those who may prefer to listen rather than read about their municipality.
“As the media landscape changes citizens deserve new ways to receive engaging content and to be informed on current events,” said Tessa Vecchio, Corporate Communications Officer. “We will move beyond headlines and offer context into current issues, initiatives and decisions that shape our community into the place where we all belong.”
The City’s podcast is an initiative from the Clerks and Corporate Communications office. If you would like to know more about certain topics pertaining to the municipality or have an idea for an upcoming podcast email [email protected]
