Get ready for another round of heavy snow showers. A Texas low will push into the Great Lakes Thursday afternoon and last through to Friday morning. The storm system will bring winds, possible rain and wet snow to the area that could exceed 15cm in some locations.
Special weather statement in effect for:
Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Significant snow possible Thursday into Friday morning.
Hazards:
Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow.
Timing:
Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.
Discussion:
A low pressure system is expected to bring snowfall to northeastern Ontario beginning Thursday afternoon. Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm will be possible. Snow may mix with ice pellets at times, which could reduce the accumulations. The heavy snow will weaken by Friday morning.
Impacts:
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
One will get you fifty that we’ll see a declaration of a “snow emergency” from our hapless municipality within the next 24 hours and that will absolve them of any responsibility to attempt to clear snow in a timely fashion.
Should have made it 100,000:1 🙂
