ARCH Hospice and members of the Zonta Club of Sault Ste. Marie are excited that Vernon Bailey and John McClenaghan will be presenting Call of the Wild once again.
An evening of Robert Service poetry by Vernon and music with John will be performed over 4 nights (February 15-18) at the Sault Theatre Workshop (121 Pittsburgh Ave. Sault Ste. Marie). Doors open at 6:45 pm with music starting at 7:15 pm and the show at 7:30 pm. All of the proceeds will go to support both ARCH Hospice and ZONTA.
Vernon Bailey shared, “Zonta and ARCH are our recipients of proceeds for the February 2023 Call of the Wild performances. Both of these charities provide a valuable service to the residents of Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area. Both exemplify kindness to all whom they serve. Zonta for the help they give to women in our community such as Ovarian Cancer Research, victims of sexual assault and abuse or education scholarships to young women. ARCH Hospice has touched the lives of all of us, be it to a close family member, friend or neighbour that needed support at the end of life’s journey.”
John and Vernon started performing these song and poetry evenings first in 2018. Their goal was to raise funds for worthwhile charities in the Algoma District. To date over $30,000.00 has been donated to various charities including ARCH, Zonta, Northshore Health Network (Thessalon, Mathews, & Blind River Sites) and Rainbow Camp.
“I was able to attend a past show and was blown away by the talent of Vernon and John, you don’t want to miss it! We are so grateful to the people in our community for their continued support,” said Julie Premo, ARCH Manager of Training and Coordination.
“Vernon Bailey has been generously supporting our club in so many ways over the years, dedicating his time, good humour and talents to many of our fundraising events. Thank you again, Vernon and John!” said Kathy Rydall, president of the Zonta Club of Sault Ste. Marie Area.
