There is going to be quite a wrestling event coming to SooBlaster (345 Queen St.) on February 18 that will feature lots for all to get into; a family rivalry, theatrics, a heavyweight match, and some major wrestling sensations.
Vinnie and Diego DaVinci, two local wrestlers have some scores to settle as Diego has come out of retirement and has a bone to pick with his brother who is stealing the spotlight, taking big matches that his brother would have had.
This is some footage we took of the brothers here in the Sault a few years ago.
“It’s a tale as old as time,” Kevin Calder, a promoter for the event said.
The two brothers, as well as Odjig Thundercloud and Sgt. Commando are all from the Sault and area know how to put on a show, as they appeared in the multi-million dollar film that was shot in the Sault in 2016 called The Masked Saint.
But this event is not just about local people. There are a lot of big names in the wrestling circuit and since coming out of a two-year hiatus from lockdowns, these wrestlers really want to put on a show for the Sault.
You can buy tickets here. General admission is $23. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $26 and to meet the VIP wrestlers, it is $28.

For the CWE Canadian Unified Jr. Heavyweight Championship Match, it is a 3-Way Dance, with CWE Jr. Champion “Chiseled” Chad Daniels vs. WWE/IMPACT!/ROH Star “A Double” Austin Aries vs. Magnum McLaren.
For the CWE Championship Match, CWE Champion “The Zombie Killer” MENTALLO will take on 2022 Rumble To Remember Winner “Hotshot” Danny Duggan.
For the Grudge Match! Brother vs. Brother!, the “Sin City Saint” Vinnie DaVinci will be against his brother Diego DaVinci.
Also Sgt. Commando will take on 2022 King Of Transcona “The Headline” Shaun Martens and Odjig Thundercloud will take on CWE Newcomer “The Death Merchant” Jaxon Payne.
