Snowmobilers will hit the trails this Saturday 4 February 2023 for the Sault Ste. Marie Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids. The annual event takes place on The Sault Trailblazers Snowmobile Club’s groomed trails, and encourages winter enthusiasts to raise funds for children and youth with physical disabilities.

Now in its 49th year, Snowarama offers attendees the chance to get outside alongside their community and hit the trails in support of children with physical disabilities. This year, snowmobilers from 10 communities across Ontario will take part in this family-friendly event, including Timmins, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, and Thunder Bay.

The Sault Ste. Marie ride will start at the Algoma Rod and Gun Club with registration running from 7:00 to 10:00 am.  The trail then takes the participants to a bonfire break near Ranger Lake Road, then to Searchmont Resort for lunch, finishing with the return trip back to Algoma Rod and Gun.  Riders (26 years of age and over) who raise $150 or more and riders (12-25 years of age) who raise $100 or more will receive a Snowarama crest, Snowarama toque and gloves set, a free breakfast and lunch, up to $25 in gas, and a ballot into the local dealer draw for great prizes from Bud Robinson Motorsports, Christie’s RV, Construction Equipment Ltd., Dynatype, Great Lakes Outfitters, Northshore Sports and Auto, Rivercity Motorsports and Woody’s Wheels.

All riders must acquire a permit (seasons pass or multi-day) and affix it to the sled to participate in Snowarama.  Please go to https://permits.ofsc.on.ca/ to purchase the type of permit you wish.

Darrell Maahs, spokesperson for The Sault Trailblazers, encourages participation.  “With the recent winter weather conditions, the trails are shaping up nicely just in time for this year’s Easter Seals Snowarama.  Our Club has been involved with this event for the past 49 years and we are proud of the funds that have been raised over the years for Easter Seals kids.  In addition to the breakfast and lunch that will be provided, our Club will once again be hosting a trailside stop that will provide riders with a place to stop and warm up at a bonfire while enjoying hot refreshments and other snacks along the route.   We invite all riders to come out and join on the trails for the 49th Easter Seals Snowarama!”
