Wiarton Willie Says Early Spring!

It’s hard to believe that an early Spring has been predicted by Ontario’s weather forecasting rodent, Wiarton Willie, when we’re in a snow squall warning for today – but the ground hog has spoken.

Wiarton Willie predicted an early Spring by not seeing his shadow this morning at 8:07am in the town of Wiarton, in the South Bruce Peninsula.

Ground Hogs in the U.S. say 6 more weeks of winter.

It won’t feel too much like Spring in the coming days, with cold temperatures and snow showers forecast for most of the weekend.

Long range computer models however support the Ontario ground hog. Above normal temperatures are expected to build in mid-February and last through most of March.
