On March 15, 2023, officers from Patrol Services charged 42-year-old Melanie Syrette with robbery with a weapon.
Around 1:30 p.m. the accused attended a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road. While at the business, the accused selected several items and attempted to leave without paying. Staff attempted to get the accused to pay for the items, but the accused pulled a knife and threatened staff and left the business.
911 Communicators received an emergency call about the incident and dispatched officers. Officers located the accused a short time later and they were arrested.
