UPDATED – ARREST MADE in Pine Street Gun Incident

Around 7:45 p.m. members with the Crime Suppression Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit, Emergency Services Unit and Patrol Services arrested wanted 34-year-old Devon Floyd.

Around 3:30 p.m. detectives determined the accused was in a multi-unit residence in the 200 block of Northern Avenue. The accused would not exit the residence when officers requested the accused to exit. Members of the Emergency Services Unit, as well as Crisis Negotiators, were called out to assist with the investigation.

After lengthy negotiations, the accused exited the residence and was arrested. The accused was wanted in connection to a firearm investigation which took place on Pine Street on March 6, 2023.

The accused is charged with,
• Pointing a Firearm x2
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Careless use of Firearm
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
• Fail to Comply with Release Order x2.

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Officers are no longer holding the scene on Northern Avenue.

ORIGINAL STORY

Devon Floyd, 34-years-old, of Heyden, Ontario is wanted for pointing a firearm and various firearm offences in relation to a gun incident that took place March 6, 2023, in the 600 block of Pine Street. During the incident the accused pointed a gun at two victims. No physical injuries have been reported related to the incident.
