The Sault is in for a musical treat when Halifax Blues-Rock power duo, Christine Campbell & Blake Johnston breeze into town to lay down their groove at Soo Blaster on Thursday, June 1st.
With their music being described as soulful, they have built a name for themselves on the Canadian scene blending 60’s and 70’s rock-style guitar riffs and glorious vocal harmonies. Not just a flash in the pan, the duo have caught the eye of established musicians and have opened for names of note such as Burton Cummings, Steve Earle & Bob Seger.
Their 2021 release, the self-titled album, Campbell & Johnston’s Black Market Band, which was self produced, earned them an award for Best Blues Album at the 2022 ECMAs and a Maple Blues Nomination. As a follow up, 2023, Campbell’s home province showed their support for her, with the Music PEI award “Rooted to the Island Award”!
The Sault Blues Society is proud to present Campbell & Johnston to the Community.
