With the warmer weather, the City of Sault Ste. Marie and Police Service remind hub trail users of the importance of obeying the rules.
Under the by-law 2018-13, people are not permitted to drive or operate any vehicle other than a bicycle on the John Rowswell Hub Trail and connecting spoke trails. This restriction applies to both motorized and non-motorized vehicles. Additionally, e-bikes are explicitly prohibited from being operated on the trail. The exception includes people with mobility disabilities utilizing personal mobility devices.
Furthermore, the City has imposed a maximum speed limit of 20 km/h for all trail users. It is mandatory for people to adhere to this speed limit while traveling on the Hub Trail to ensure the safety of everyone using the trail.
The City of Sault Ste. Marie encourages all citizens to respect and comply with the by-law to maintain the integrity and safety of the Hub Trail. Violators may be subject to fines and penalties as determined by the applicable laws and regulations.
