On May 23, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 21-year-old Shawn Seymour with operation while impaired, among other charges.
Around 6:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a call about erratic driving in the 200 block of Albert Street East. Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle driven by the accused had been reported stolen around 5:00 p.m. After speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate the vehicle was impaired by drugs.
The accused was transported to hospital as a precaution. While there, officers read the accused a demand to collect a blood sample. The accused refused to comply.
The accused was arrested and charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with a Demand
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 31, 2023.
