After an overwhelming response to the loss of the Lafromboise Childrens’ Perch Derby, a newly formed Club has offered to breathe new life into the event for the children and families of Algoma this coming March 12th.

The Algoma Fish and Game Club, formed in May is a strong advocate for conservation and promoter of family outdoor activities. Mr. Rob Lafromboise is a founding member of the Club and is happy to see an enthusiastic group of volunteers stepping up to once again bring this successful event to the families of the Algoma District.

While the Childrens’ Perch Derby is a major focus of the Club, they have also already been working with the MNRF to promote conservation, improve angling and hunting opportunties and advocate for better access to outdoor sporting.  The Algoma Fish and Game Club has hosted a competitive Walleye Derby last summer and has plans to similar events in the future including a Multi-Species Family Derby next summer.

To support these efforts the Algoma Fish and Game Club will be hosting a fundraiser
