St. Vincent Place is encouraging Sault Ste. Marie residents to bundle up and raise cold, hard cash for The Coldest Night of the Year (WALK).
A family-friendly winter fundraising event that hundreds of Saultites will join thousands of others across Canada in walking to raise funds in support of the hungry, homeless, and hurting. The WALK takes place on the evening of February 22, 2020 between 4 and 8 pm.

Local businessman Joe Ruscio is a dedicated St. Vincent Place volunteer, last year raising a whopping $16,000. Because Joe is on track to have another strong year, we’re challenging all walkers to try to beat Joe’s fundraising total and be crowned the Coldest Night champion of Sault Ste. Marie. That champion will also win a brand new St. Vincent Place hoody!
Note: Come prepared with good walking waterproof shoes/boots, warm coat & mitts. All walkers 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
We encourage all walkers to fundraise!

Thousands of participants will be taking part in the WALK in an anticipated 115 cities across Canada. By walking together in the chill of the night, participants will better understand the experience of being on the streets during a cold Canadian winter, while raising funds to aid the work of St. Vincent Place in providing much-needed support to members of our community.
St. Vincent Place serves the homeless and poor in our community by providing them with shelter, clothing, food, household essentials and compassionate attention through a dedicated group of volunteers and staff. We are a non-profit organization, dedicated to assisting members of the community with basic needs and support during difficult times.
St. Vincent Place has been serving Sault Ste. Marie for over 15 years, and the funds raised in the Coldest Night of the Year, their largest fundraising event, will benefit their clients in a time of the year known historically for low levels of giving and greatest need.
