2019 Fringe North Festival
~Aug. 8th – 18th ~
SO MANY EVENTS!
Once again the Fringe North International Theatre Festival will bring free music concerts, graffiti contest, Art Crawl, Art Battle, the annual Arts Council “Art in the Parkin’ Lot”, and a Free Kids Fringe with Buskers, street performers, dream-catchers, drumming and storytelling, costume play, and free art and music activities for all ages!
DID YOU KNOW… The first fringe took place in 1947 in Edinburgh. There were a number of performing artists who were not official participants of the Edinburgh International Festival (whose participants are invited by its General Director) decided to produce their own
work in empty stores and church basements. NOW… Over the past 30 years there are now more than 200 festivals celebrating “World Fringe Day” worldwide, including August’s third annual Fringe North in the Sault.
WHAT THE FRINGE IS:
1. Amazing performances.
2. Creative, talented people.
5. On time.
WHAT THE FRINGE ISN’T:
Fringe shows typically are inexpensive and small-scale, running from 45 to 90 minutes.
Ticket prices are capped by Fringe North at $12.
Artist can charge less, but not more, than $12
