Splash pads are a colourful way to enhance our City’s parks and they are just plain FUN!

The City’s splash pad includes engaging water features such as shower heads and spray jets with various activated, in-ground and above ground features that spray water in different patterns and directions, cooling visitors off on hot summer days.

The splash pad provides hours of children’s play in a free and inclusive way for families to enjoy active outdoor summer fun.

As part of Stage 2 of the Province’s reopening framework, the City of Sault Ste. Marie continues to take a cautious and gradual approach to ensure that safety and proper procedures are in place at all facilities.
♦ When using the Splash Pad, residents are reminded to stay at least 6ft. / 2m. from other people and follow social gathering sizes of 10 or less.
♦ Be courteous and share this space with the community.
♦ Limit your time and ensure others have a chance to use the amenity.
♦ If the Splash Pad is busy, and physical distancing is not possible, residents are asked to return at a later time.

“Staff are focused on making the necessary preparations to meet the demands of the community for facility use when permitted to do so. As with other areas, these preparations include complying with Provincial legislation, complying with guidance from Algoma Public Health (often requiring APH site inspections) and factoring in user group requirements informed by terms and guidance from their governing bodies,” adds White.

Residents are reminded to take extra caution and abide by on-site signage and protocols. The City of Sault Ste. Marie continues to work closely with Algoma Public Health and community stakeholders to monitor the COVID-19 situation and respond accordingly.

For the most current information, updates will be posted to the City’s website at www.saultstemarie.ca/covid19 and on social media.
