The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRA) is proud to announce that 2016 commemorates 40 years since the opening of our first independent living apartment building, Suomi Eesti Maja (SEM) on September 25, 1976.

From our humble beginnings, with the founding of our Association on September 1, 1971, OFRA has seen the addition of four phases ranging from independent living to assisted living to a full-care nursing home.
People throughout the Algoma district and surrounding areas are excited to live in and be part of the OFRA family.

We take pride in being known as “Homes with a Heart”.

This year marks four decades of excellence in providing exceptional facilities and superior levels of care in an atmosphere conducive to the social and individual dignity and well-being of our seniors of all backgrounds and nationalities, within an atmosphere of Finnish culture and traditions.

We’re especially proud that, throughout the years OFRA has met the needs of our seniors and we continue to move forward in meeting the needs of an aging population.

We are sincerely grateful for the support of our residents, employees, volunteers, donors, OFRA’s Board of Directors, Ladies Auxiliary and Foundation Board Members. Without the vision, support and hard work of all of these parties in a coordinated fashion, we simply would not exist.

Please join us for a light luncheon hosted by our Ladies Auxiliary.
