Digital Creator North is a teen media arts lab and hangout space. Teens are encouraged to use the space in a way that fits with their individual interests! We aim to promote digital literacy by providing space, equipment, software and mentorship with a variety of digital media arts technology. Our goal is to create teens who are creators of digital media content and not just consumers!
There are lots of exciting workshops & programs coming up, some of which include:

♦ Digital Photography Workshop
♦ Digital Filmmaking Workshop
♦ Writer’s Craft Workshop

We are still looking for input on our August calendar. You can fill out the survey at: http://bit.ly/DGTLSummer
This super short survey (4 questions!) is your chance to let us know what type of activities and hours of operation you want to see this summer! Thank you in advance to anyone who fills it out!
Throughout the summer we will have drop-in hours in our space at the Centennial Library downtown on Tuesday and Wednesday, then on Thursdays between 3pm and 6pm we will be utilizing our newest Drop-In space at the Korah Branch Library (see hours below on schedule). We will also have weekly events such as work-shops, art-making, video-game and movie nights. Bring your own snacks, except on gaming night where snacks will be provided. (check the Schedule to find out when!)
Any teens who need volunteer hours for high school can also contact Katie (firstname.lastname@example.org) to inquire about upcoming volunteer opportunities at summer workshops and community events!
Hope to see you soon @ Digital Creator North !!”

Digital Creator North (DCN) spaces are intended to inspire creative experimentation, digital literacy, peer networking, connected learning, and community engagement through the use of media arts disciplines. The project is aimed at bringing a positive cultural impact to Northern communities by increasing participation in the media arts sector. Workshops and use of the space is free, and housed downtown in the public library for low-barrier access.
DCN SSM offers teens equipment, software and mentorship in various disciplines including but not limited to digital photography, video production, illustration/animation, audio recording, graphic design and coding. Through both structured programming (scheduled activities or workshops) and unstructured drop-in hours (open studio) the DCN space is geared towards providing a safe, open space to facilitate interest-driven learning and creation.
