Exhibit On Display
May 4th – 26th, 2017
Opening Reception & Accompanying Performance
May 4th, 2017 from 7:00pm – 9:30pm
“Threshold” explores the idea of a threshold of perception or understanding, particularly in regard to environmental change. The project poses questions such as: when does plenty become glut; when does concern turn to alarm; and at what point are things irreversible?
“‘Threshold’ is a collaborative project that creates an immersive visual and auditory environment. The initial experience is akin to Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’, with somewhat darker tones of environmental realities underlying the experience. A recorded soundtrack accompanies the exhibition, but for the opening performance, there will be a live performance of sound and spoken word,” said Associate Professor Noni Boyle of the Visual Arts program.
The opening reception and exhibition are open to the public and free of charge.
This project is being funded by the Algoma University Research Fund.
