Are you a Member? Join us on the look out for Deciduous Trees in Winter!
Sault Naturalist outings usually occur on Saturdays each weekend, but Sunday and weekday outings occur on occasion. Outings have a wide variety of destinations and focuses, including birding, wildlife tracking, botany, hiking/snowshoeing, and more. These outings take place on both the Ontario and Michigan sides of the Sault Ste. Marie area.
During the current Covid-19 pandemic, outings may need to be cancelled or postponed please visit https://saultnaturalists.org/outings-schedule for all important scheduling updates
There’s no need to give up on tree ID when the leaves fall. With a few key features in mind, deciduous trees are not very difficult. We’ll keep it simple by concentrating on the species you are most likely to encounter in the forest.
Gentle terrain, not a great distance. Either walking or snowshoeing.
PLEASE NOTE: You MUST contact the outing leader to confirm time of event and let them know you will be attending. RSVP: Don Hall 705-248-1834 [email protected]
During the current Covid-19 pandemic, outings are limited to MEMBERS ONLY. In addition, we have also limited the number of participants to a maximum of 25 as per the current provincial mandate.
