Whether you would like to hike on Algoma wilderness trails or tour lake Superior where the Group of Seven and other artists were inspired, Blaq Bear will take care of all the details. Half-day and full day hikes and tours available to fit your schedule.
Guided Snowshoe Hikes
Small group sizes 1-6 people (or as per Public Health guidelines)
Algoma is blessed with abundant snow, during winter months and the highlands just north of Sault Ste. Marie boasts some of the best trails around. Come explore this wintry wonderland, and learn about the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority who own the land.
Departing and returning from Hiawatha Highlands this guided tour explores some of the local trails and picturesque landmarks. (2 to 3 hrs.) and is perfect for semi active/active people. Robertson Cliffs and the Algoma Highlands is another guided snowshoe hike perfect for active people, this tour is a 5 – 6 km wilderness hike and takes approximately 4 – 6 hrs departing and returning from the Robertson Lake Road.
Guided Snowshoe Tour of the Sugarbush
Max. group size is 6 (or as per Public Health guidelines)
Snowshoe through the Hogan Homestead sugarbush in Goulais River. This two hour tour will highlight the views over Goulais Bay and through the snowy maple forest. Includes a warm beverage once we reach the top, so bring your cup. The tour will end at the maple syrup production facility and gift shop where you will have the opportunity to purchase some maple products at its best.
Tours Times: Thursday – Sunday – 9am, 1pm, 4pm must be booked 24hours prior beginning March 6th.
♦ Guided Snowshoe Hikes – $40 pp ($25 each additional person), includes $5 park pass
♦ Robertson Cliffs and the Algoma Highlands – $60 pp ($35 each additional person), includes $5/per person donation to the Algoma Highlands Conservancy.
♦ Guided Snowshoe Tour of the Sugarbush – Per group $50, price includes $25 which goes back to the sugar bush sustainability and improvement fund.

- Optional lunch can also be provided for $15. Must be preordered 24hrs prior to hike.
- Clients will be required to complete a COVID questionnaire prior to the tour.
- Clients must bring their own snowshoes.
