Snowshoe Northland Creek with Ruth/Marko
Saturday, February 13, 2021
Join Ruth & Marko starting from their house on the Searchmont Hwy, snowshoeing to Northland Creek, above the falls, then on to Northland Station House.
Round trip loop is about 6-8 km. On the return loop on a clear day we will have a nice view of Robertson Cliffs and Northland Lake. The terrain is quite hilly, so there are steep inclines. Watch for moose and wolf scat, lots of signs of fox, rabbit, squirrel, and occasionally signs of pine martens, weasels and coyotes. For birds, we most often have ruffed grouse, woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, finches, redpolls and grosbeaks during the winter.
Parking is limited to 10 vehicles. Bring lunch, beverage and a mask.
PLEASE NOTE: You MUST contact the outing leader to confirm time of event and let them know you will be attending. RSVP: Ruth or Marko for the details 705-541-8490 [email protected]
During the current Covid-19 pandemic, outings are limited to MEMBERS ONLY. In addition, we have also limited the number of participants to a maximum of 25 as per the current provincial mandate.
