The Great Bucket List Cycle Goes Virtual! Kick-off Sept. 19th – Sept. 26th

The Great Bucket List Cycle is back in a whole new way!


Due to COVID-19 the Team at ARCH Hospice have had to recalibrate the Great Bucket List Cycle with this year’s event happening virtually, to provide a safe way to still participate in 2020!

DID YOU KNOW… Last year’s event attracted over 150 cyclists of all ages and abilities to cycle 40, 70, or 100 kilometres on St. Joseph Island. AND In the past 2 years, the Bucket List Cycle has raised over $65,000 for ARCH Hospice.

We can’t offer the full experience of past years’ events, however, we still wanted to provide you with the opportunity to challenge yourself, have fun and help Hospice!

This event is for all levels of cyclists (including Mountain and Fat Bike riders) and ages – join as a whole family!

The virtual ride will kick off on Saturday, September 19 and run until Saturday, September 26 allowing participants to meet their kilometre goals throughout the week. Virtual events are flexible as it is up to the participant whether they want to cycle on St. Joseph Island or the hub trail here in the Sault.

  • 40 KM Novice Riders: $40.00 registration or collects min. $40 in pledges
  • 70 KM Intermediate Route: $70.00 registration fee or collects min. $70 in pledges
  • 100 KM Gran Fondo: $100.00 registration fee or collects min. $100 in pledges

All registrants receive a Registration Kit, which includes Registrant Information Package, cycling snacks, water bottle, giveaways, and a commemorative medal

Registration is $1/km, either paid by the participant or raised by a pledge. All proceeds raised support the residents and families that ARCH serves.

The goal is for everyone to donate or raise at least $1/km with all of the proceeds supporting quality, end-of-life care.

The team at ARCH will be using Strava to provide predetermined routes for riders as well as PDF maps, but riders can also choose to do their route. Riders are encouraged to track their results on Strava, or another tracking app that can be shared on both their personal and ARCH Hospice’s Facebook or Instagram – they would love to share your story!

  • Gift card at a local restaurant for food



Deadline for Registration
You must be signed up through registration fee or pledges by Tuesday, September 1 in order to receive a Registration Kit and Great Bucket List Cycle gifts. We’ll deliver Registration Kits and gifts right to your door on September 17 and 18. Late registrants can still participate and join in on the fun, we just cannot guarantee a Registration Kit!

Things to Keep in Mind to Keep you Safe 🙂

♦ ONLY cycle with people in your household or social circle

♦ For safety, please do NOT make plans to meet up with others that aren’t in your circle

♦ If passing someone on the route, do it quickly but courteously! Passing someone on the route is not considered a close contact or a significant risk for exposure to COVID-19.

♦ If you must be behind other cyclists, stay well back and try to stagger yourself.

♦ If stopping on a trail or path be sure to pull over to the side so others have room to pass safely while maintaining a physical distance.

♦ Consider changing your route or the time of day that you go out so that you can follow these guidelines.

♦ It is important to remember that trails may be busier than usual, and as a rider, you must remember to yield to pedestrians/walkers
